Watts Antenna Company: Certified Training

            Watts Antenna Company conducts advanced in-factory training and on-site briefings tailored to meet customer requirements for system installation, optimization, maintenance and operation.  Watts can organize training to accommodate any number of customer personnel and can be structured as a four – six hour briefing or an in-depth three- four day session on-site with hands-on experience with a newly-installed system. Watts has provided such training at End-fire installations for the FAA, U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, and the aviation agencies in Norway and Switzerland, covering such areas as:

 

            - Pre-operational/Pre-optimization technical procedures for authorized station personnel

            - Familiarization with the system:

                        - General Requirements and Specifications

                        - Theory of Operation

                        - Standards and Tolerances

                        - Periodic and Corrective Maintenance Procedures

                        - Installation, Integration, and Check-Out

                        - Troubleshooting

 

            - Participants receive individual copies of the pertinent instruction books and other material

In-Factory Training Leading to Manufacturer’s Certification & Endorsement

            Watts conducts rigorous five-day training programs in its factory.  Participants can obtain factory endorsement for system installation and optimization as well as an endorsement as a trainer on the system with successful completion of the course and performance on a comprehensive six-hour examination.  The highest certification endorsement for trainer has been earned by only four out of ten students.

            The programs are designed to provide each attendee with a high level of proficiency in the End-fire systems, using Watts’ facilities and equipment for hands-on experience with major system sub-assemblies and include special topics on installation, system optimization and flight inspection.

Field Engineering Level Services

            On-site engineering level services are provided at the post installation stage to assist in optimization of the system in readiness for flight inspection.  This includes antenna layout and interface unit checkout.  Airborne measurements can also be arranged to collect data and assist with antenna system tune-up and on-ground adjustments to achieve final optimization and performance to ready the antenna fir flight inspection.

 

Commissioning and Flight Inspection

           

            Watts will assist at the time of commissioning flight inspection, advising on the interpretation of flight measurements and on-ground adjustments to the antenna and interface electronics.

Factory Support Engineering Services

            Watts Antenna personnel are available to consult with customers on questions relating to installation and performance.  Issues arising from problems or conditions related to site conditions and dynamic environments will be addressed.

Advanced End-fire Glide Slope Antenna System:

Factory Training Announced

Watt Antenna Company is announcing the schedule for Advanced End-fire Glide Slope Antenna System factory training.  The class is scheduled for September 13-17, 2010 at our facility in Herndon, Virginia.  Class size is limited to 12-15 attendees and slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.  Attendees have the opportunity to receive Installation, Maintenance and Training certificates depending on the results of the examination at the end of the training session.

 The cost will be $1,500.00 per person if paid before August 1 and $1,800.00 if paid after that date.  We look forward to seeing you in the class.
